The President of the Australian Law Reform Commission, Emeritus Professor Rosalind Croucher AM and the Honourable Dr. Kay Patterson AO, Federal Age Discrimination Commissioner, will be key presenters at the 2017 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Forum to be held on Thursday 15 June in Melbourne.
Mr. Gerard Mansour, the Commissioner for Senior Victorians, was appointed as the Ambassador for the Prevention of Elder Abuse by the Victorian Government in late 2016, as part of the Victorian Government’s response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence. Mr. Mansour will present on his role and the work he has been undertaking to protect older Victorians from abuse and mistreatment.
Following the key speakers, a Q&A session will be held with some of those working in the field of elder abuse in Victoria. This will be an opportunity for audience participation and discussion.
This event is being presented by the Victorian Office of the Public Advocate with Seniors Rights Victoria.
