OPA volunteers honoured

Volunteering Victoria Awards

Three of OPA's valued volunteers have been recognised for their contribution and commitment at the recent Volunteering Victoria Awards.

Ros Thurrowgood, Gideon Stein and Pat O’Donnell were shortlisted for this year's awards and attended a special ceremony at Government House on Tuesday 27 February 2024.

Volunteering Victoria received over 400 nominations for these awards, so we are extremely chuffed that Ros, Gideon and Pat were shortlisted

Ros Thurrowgood, a Regional Convenor for the Community Visitor Program and tireless advocate for people with disability for over 20 years, was a finalist in the Leadership category.

Gideon Stein, a Lead Visitor in the Disability stream of the Community Visitors Program, was a finalist in the Young Volunteer category.

Independent Third Person volunteer Pat O’Donnell, who has taken part in an extraordinary amount of police interviews over the last 15 years, was a finalist in the Volunteer Impact category.
